Event Terms & Communications Consent

Last updated: September 4, 2026 · Version 2026-09-04

These terms apply to every event hosted or co-hosted by The Alternative Board Austin ("TAB Austin", "we", "us"). By reserving a seat, registering, or attending, you agree to them. Individual events may add their own terms, which are shown on that event's registration page.

Reserving your seat

An RSVP holds a seat in a room with limited capacity. If your plans change, please cancel using the link in your confirmation email or let us know, so we can offer the seat to someone else. We may close registration early, change the time or venue, or cancel an event; if we cancel, we will contact you at the email or phone number you provided.

Fees

Registration fees for paid events are non-refundable. Canceling releases your seat but does not refund the fee. If we cancel an event entirely, we will refund the registration fee for that event.

Communications consent

The name, email address, and phone number you give us may be used to:

  • confirm your seat and send event details, reminders, and changes;
  • follow up after the event; and
  • send occasional TAB Austin updates about future events, resources, and content — including messages that promote our programs.

You can unsubscribe at any time using the link at the bottom of any email, by replying "unsubscribe", or by emailing bhushan@tabaustin.com. Unsubscribing stops marketing messages; we will still send the confirmations and logistics for events you have already registered for. If you gave us a mobile number, message and data rates from your carrier may apply, and you can stop texts by replying STOP.

Photos, video, and recording

We sometimes take photographs or video at events and may use them to promote TAB Austin. If you prefer not to appear, tell the host when you arrive and we will respect that. Guests may not record audio or video of the discussion without the host's permission.

Confidentiality and conduct

Our events depend on candor. What owners share in the room stays in the room. Do not repeat another attendee's confidential business information outside the event. We may ask anyone who disrupts the room or ignores these expectations to leave.

No solicitation

TAB Austin events are not a forum for advertising, promoting, or selling products or services. You may not use the attendee list, contact information, or anything disclosed during the event to solicit, market to, recruit, pitch, or sell to other guests. Member introductions and referrals are welcome when they are invited; unsolicited pitching or marketing to fellow attendees is grounds for removal from the event and future events.

Who we share your information with

We do not sell your information. We share it only with the service providers that help us run events and communications (for example email, payment, and analytics providers). Event partners and sponsors receive a headcount and general audience summary, not your contact details, unless you choose to share them at the event.

Guest responsibility

You attend voluntarily and are responsible for your own conduct and property at the venue. Content shared at our events is general business education, not legal, tax, accounting, or investment advice.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The version in effect for your event is the one posted here on the day you register, identified by the version label at the top of this page.

Questions and data requests

To ask a question, correct your details, or have your information removed, email bhushan@tabaustin.com. See also our Privacy Policy and Terms of Use.
