The Admission Exercise

The Admission Exercise

There is a lie that almost every business owner tells themselves. I hear it every month in our peer advisory boards.

"Nobody else can do this right, or fast enough, or at all."

It is the excuse we use to hold onto work we should have delegated a year ago. You are approving expenses under $500. You are answering customer emails that your team should handle. You are the backup for every role because you do not trust the systems you built.

That is not leadership. That is fear disguised as thoroughness.

The hardest part of delegation is not finding the right person. It is admitting out loud that you should stop doing the work yourself. Take the tasks you did last week and put them into three buckets: Delegate, Automate, or Delete.

Be honest. Half of your list probably belongs in the Delete bucket. What is the one task you are most afraid to let go of?

For Austin owners who want to stop being the bottleneck in their own companies, a peer advisory group is the fastest way to get out of your own way. Send me a message if you are ready.
